PIZZA
CLUB.
Hosted by Rosie Johnstone, Sapphire & Rose Communications
A monthly meet-up for small local businesses. Good pizza, decent people, zero elevator pitches.
A network
for people
who hate
networking.
What
it's
about.
If the phrase “break out session” makes you sweat, this is the place for you.
Less cringe. More pizza.
Running a small business is lonely. Traditional networking doesn't help: 7am breakfasts, forced introductions, someone trying to sell you a franchise before you've finished your coffee.
Pizza Club is the opposite. We get local business owners round a table, put a lot of pizza in the middle, and let conversation happen the way it does between normal people.
Nobody's keeping score. Nobody's counting referrals. You might leave with a new customer, a new supplier or a new mate. You'll definitely leave full.
How it works.
-
01
Grab a seat
Book your spot online. It takes about as long as choosing a topping.
-
02
Turn up hungry
Come as you are. No dress code, no lanyards, no pitch to rehearse.
-
03
Eat. Chat. Repeat.
Long tables, shared pizzas, real conversations. Talk shop or don't. Both are fine.
-
04
Leave whenever
No closing remarks, no feedback forms. Just go home when you're done.
The rules of Pizza Club.
- 1You do not pitch at Pizza Club.
- 2You do not pitch at Pizza Club.
- 3Business cards stay in your pocket unless someone asks.
- 4Pineapple is welcome. So is everyone.
- 5Last slice goes to whoever's travelled furthest.
Who's it for.
Small & local
Shops, studios, trades, cafés, freelancers, makers. If you're building something in your patch, pull up a chair.
Allergic to networking
Introverts, reluctant extroverts and anyone whose soul leaves their body at the word “synergy”.
Fond of pizza
This one's non-negotiable. Veggie, vegan and gluten-free options are always on the table.
Questions.
Do I have to talk about my business?
Only if you want to. Most people end up chatting about it anyway, but it happens naturally rather than in a 60-second slot.
Is it a membership thing?
No contracts, no annual fees, no “one per industry” rules. Come once, come every month, it's up to you.
I'm shy. Will it be awkward?
Less awkward than you think. Sharing food does most of the work. Passing someone the chilli oil is a perfectly good opener.
Can I bring someone?
Yes. Bring a business buddy along. Just make sure they book a seat so we order enough pizza.
What about dietary requirements?
Let us know when you book. Veggie, vegan and gluten-free are always covered.
Save me
a slice.
Dates for the next Pizza Club are coming soon. Drop us a line and we'll let you know when and where.
